This control protein consists of the recombinant protein (aa 1 - 273) that has been used for immunization. It has been tested in preadsorption experiments and blocks efficiently and specifically the corresponding signal in Western blots. The amount of protein needed for efficient blocking depends on the titer and on the affinity of the antibody to the antigen.
Syntaxin 4, a member of the SNARE family of proteins, is related to syntaxin 1. Like syntaxin 2 it is predominantly localized to the plasma membrane of a wide variety of cells. Similar to syntaxins 1, 2, and 3, it appears to be involved in the fusion of transport vesicles with the plasma membrane.
