SynGAP peptide - 157-0P

SynGAP is a synaptic Ras-GTPase activating protein
control peptide
Cat. No.: 157-0P
Amount: 100 µg
Price: $105.00
Cat. No. 157-0P 100 µg peptide, lyophilized. For reconstitution add 100 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use.
Control peptides should be stored at -20°C when still lyophilized!
Applications

Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to AA 1274 to 1293 from rat SynGAP (UniProt Id: Q9QUH6)
Recommended dilution Optimal concentrations should be determined by the end-user.
Matching antibodies 157 002, 157 003
Remarks

This control peptide consists of the peptide (KRLLDAQRGSFPPWVQQTRV) that has been used for immunization. It has been tested in preadsorption experiments and blocks efficiently and specifically the corresponding signal in Western blots. The amount of peptide needed for efficient blocking depends on the titer and on the affinity of the antibody to the antigen.

Background

SynGAP is an approximately 135 kDa protein which is condensed at the post-synaptic density. A potential interaction partner for this protein is the abundant PDZ domain protein PSD 95.
Three isoforms (a, b and c) of synGAP have been described. The protein is a substrate for calmodulin dependent kinase 2 (CAMK2). Phosphorylation of synGAP reduces its activity, leading to an increased activation of Ras.
