COX4 peptide - 298-0P

COX4 is a protein of the inner mitochondrial membrane
control peptide
Cat. No.: 298-0P
Amount: 100 µg
Price: $105.00
Cat. No. 298-0P 100 µg peptide, lyophilized. For reconstitution add 100 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use.
Control peptides should be stored at -20°C when still lyophilized!
Applications

Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to AA 1 to 18 from mouse COX4 (UniProt Id: P19783)
Recommended dilution Optimal concentrations should be determined by the end-user.
Matching antibodies 298 002, 298 003
Remarks

This control peptide consists of the synthetic peptide (aa 1-18 in mouse COX 4) that has been used for immunization. It has been tested in preadsorption experiments and blocks efficiently and specifically the corresponding signal in Western blots. The amount of peptide needed for efficient blocking depends on the titer and on the affinity of the antibody to the antigen.

Background
The enzyme cytochrome C oxidase or Complex 4 is a large heterooligomeric enzyme consisting of 13 subunits. It is localized to the inner mitochondrial membrane. It catalyzes the reduction of molecular oxygen to water coupled to the translocation of protons across the mitochondrial inner membrane. The resulting proton gradient finaly drives ATP synthesis.
