GluN2B peptide - 244-1P

GluN2A and B are subunits of ionotropic NMDA type glutamate receptors
control peptide
Cat. No.: 244-1P
Amount: 100 µg
Price: $105.00
Cat. No. 244-1P 100 µg peptide, lyophilized. For reconstitution add 100 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use.
Control peptides should be stored at -20°C when still lyophilized!
Applications

Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to AA 42 to 60 from rat GluN2B (UniProt Id: Q00960)
Recommended dilution Optimal concentrations should be determined by the end-user.
Matching antibodies 244 103
Remarks

This control peptide consists of the synthetic peptide (aa 42-60 of rat GluN 2B) that has been used for immunization. It has been tested in preadsorption experiments and blocks efficiently and specifically the corresponding signal in Western blots. The amount of peptide needed for efficient blocking depends on the titer and on the affinity of the antibody to the antigen.

Background

GluNs (NMDA-receptors) represent a class of glutamate receptors that are of central importance in synaptic plasticity. Multiple NMDA receptor subtypes exist: GluN1 and GluN2 A-D. GluN1 is the most important as it is required for activity. NMDA-receptors allow Ca2+ influx and are thought to trigger Ca2+ dependent postsynaptic processes involved in long term potentiation and depression.
