M6a Glycoprotein peptide - 238-0P

M6a Glycoprotein is a neuron specific PLP family member
control peptide
Cat. No.: 238-0P
Amount: 100 µg
Price: $105.00
Cat. No. 238-0P 100 µg peptide, lyophilized. For reconstitution add 100 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use.
Control peptides should be stored at -20°C when still lyophilized!
Applications

Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to AA 261 to 270 from rat M6a Glycoprotein (UniProt Id: Q812E9)
Recommended dilution Optimal concentrations should be determined by the end-user.
Matching antibodies 238 003, 238 005
Remarks

This control peptide consists of the synthetic peptide (aa 261 - 270 in rodent M6a glycoprotein) that has been used for immunization. It has been tested in preadsorption experiments and blocks efficiently and specifically the corresponding signal in Western blots. The amount of peptide needed for efficient blocking depends on the titer and on the affinity of the antibody to the antigen.

Background
M6a and M6b are transmembrane glycoproteins with four membrane spanning domains that belong to the myelin proteolipid protein (PLP) family. In contrast to other PLP proteins that are expressed by glia cells, M6a is found only in neurons where it is concentrated at presynaptic glutamateric terminals.
M6a has been suggested to be a potential mediator of cell-cell interactions involved in axonfasciculation during development.
