Synaptic Systems

Dear newsletter subscriber,

New in our portfolio is a polyclonal Guinea pig antibody against DNAL 1, the Dynein light chain 1. DNAL 1, also known as C14orf168 or MGC12435, is an axonemal protein localized in the outer dynein arms complex where it uses ATP for the movement of cilia. This protein is an excellent marker for motile cilia found in respiratory epithelia, ependymal cells or testis tissue.
Also new is a monoclonal mouse antibody against Synaptoporin, also referred to as Synaptophysin 2 or p38-2 which has a high homology to Synaptophysin 1. Synaptoporin is a vesicle associated protein like Synaptophysin 1, but the expression is different. The protein is particularly enriched in mossy fiber synapses and known as a well-established marker for this subset of synapses.
On sale is now also a monoclonal mouse antibody against TRIM 46, a prominent marker for the axon initial segement (AIS)in the adult brain.
Finally, our partner NanoTag Biotechnologies developed ALFA Selector resins. These agarose beads purify proteins that carry an ALFA-tag. ALFA-tag is a novel, rationally designed epitope tag that allows purification of proteins with high affinity and superior capacity.
