GABA transporter1 peptide - 274-1P

GATs are neurotransmitter transporters involved in the termination of GABA transmission
control peptide
Cat. No.: 274-1P
Amount: 100 µg
Price: $105.00
Cat. No. 274-1P 100 µg peptide, lyophilized. For reconstitution add 100 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use.
Control peptides should be stored at -20°C when still lyophilized!
Applications

Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to AA 585 to 599 from mouse GABA transporter1 (UniProt Id: P31648)
Recommended dilution Optimal concentrations should be determined by the end-user.
Matching antibodies 274 102, 274 104
Remarks

This control peptide consists of the synthetic peptide (aa 585-599 of mouse GAT 1) that has been used for immunization. It has been tested in preadsorption experiments and blocks efficiently and specifically the corresponding signal in Western blots. The amount of peptide needed for efficient blocking depends on the titer and on the affinity of the antibody to the antigen.

Background
γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter. After the release of GABA from synaptic vesicles into the synaptic cleft during neurotransmission, GABA transporters (GATs) remove extracellular GABA by reuptake into the presynaptic terminal.
Three GABA transporters are described so far of which only GAT 1 and GAT 3 are expressed in the brain.
