Monoclonal mouse antibody against synaptobrevin2/VAMP 2
Cat. No. 104 211 IgG, unlabeled	50 µg purified IgG, lyophilized. For reconstitution add 50 µl H₂O to get a 1mg/ml solution of antibody in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C until use.
Cat. No. 104 211C3 IgG, fluorescence-labeled	50 µg purified IgG, lyophilized, fluorescence-labeled with Oyster^® 550. Rabbit serum albumin was added for stabilization. For reconstitution add 50 µl H₂O to get a 1mg/ml solution of antibody in PBS. Add 1:1 (v/v) glycerol, then aliquot and store at -20°C until use. Reconstitute immediately upon receipt! Avoid bright light when working with the antibody to minimize photo bleeching of the fluorescent dye. The mounting agent Aquatex^® (Merck Chemicals) is not compatible with Oyster dyes!

Immunogen	Synthetic peptide SATAATVPPAAPAGEG (aa 2 - 17 in rat synaptobrevin 2) coupled to key-hole limpet hemocyanin via an added N-terminal cysteine residue.
Reactivity	Human, rat, mouse, hamster; no signal in chicken.
Specificity	Specific for VAMP 2, no cross-reactivity to VAMP 1 and VAMP 3.
Remarks	IP: This antibody quantitatively precipitates synaptobrevin 2 from detergent extracts regardless of whether the protein is associated. ELISA: Suitable as capture antibody for sandwich-ELISA with cat. no. 104 102 or 104 203 as detector antibodies (protocol for sandwich-ELISA). Although the epitope for this antibody is still present in the Botulinumtoxin B cleavage product (aa 1 - 76), it is not recognized for unknown reasons.
