Densin 180
A PSD protein
General Information
Densin is a 180 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein which belongs to the LAP family [
leucine-rich repeat (LRR)
and
PDZ] family, characterized by an LRR near the N-terminus and one or more PDZ domains at the C-terminus. Several developmentally regulated splice variants and protein-protein interactions with CamKII and nephrin have been described. The protein locates to the post-synaptic density (PSD) in nerve cells but has also been shown to be expressed in glomerular podocytes in kidney.
