1 (
BASP 1) or
neuronal
axonal membrane
protein (
NAP-22) is a Ca
2+-dependent calmodulin-binding protein that is specifically expressed in neuronal tissue.
BASP 1 has several phosphorylation sites, undergoes N-terminal myristoylation and has been shown to be involved in intracellular signalling processes modulating neurite outgrowth.
