General Information
The brain acid soluble protein 1 (BASP 1) or neuronal axonal membrane protein (NAP-22) is a Ca2+-dependent calmodulin-binding protein that is specifically expressed in neuronal tissue.BASP 1 has several phosphorylation sites, undergoes N-terminal myristoylation and has been shown to be involved in intracellular signalling processes modulating neurite outgrowth.
